One of the trendiest rumors surrounding Xbox these past few months was the potential for Microsoft to either sell off the brand or kill it all together. Microsoft’s CEO took the opportunity this week to put that rumor to rest — at least in a public capacity.

As reported by The Verge, speaking at the Code Conference, Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s newly-appointed CEO, said that he foresees keeping Xbox around. “I have no intent to do anything different with Xbox than we are doing today,” Nadella stated. This strategy goes against the urging of key investors who want to see Xbox get the axe.

In the same vein as the talk about Xbox, Nadella also commented that Bing is sticking around. He cited the integration of Bing into many of Microsoft’s products as a primary reason, and that it holds a 30 percent share of the search market.
