Microsoft announces LIVE point gifting just in time

Ok, so it’s unlikely that any of your friends will exhibit the sheer excitement of the legendary Nintendo 64 boy when you give them a gift, but it’s the thought that counts. Thanks to Microsoft, you can now gift points for the Live network to friends as long as you know your friend’s LIVE username and you have a Windows Live ID account. This function is only available in the United States as of now, although hopefully it will branch out to other countries in future.

You really can’t beat the gift of gaming. In fact, I think Christmas gift cards are the only excuse to encourage your friends to go to GameStop.
