Everything we know so far
A Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries mode has been confirmed by Capcom. This specific feature includes multiplayer mayhem between you and your friends as you take down zombies.
Here’s everything we know about the Mercenaries mode so far. Let’s also speculate which characters will be playable within this horde-style feature.
What is Mercenaries mode in Resident Evil 4?

During the February 2023 State of Play, Capcom announced that a Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries mode will be making an appearance. It has you joining up with your pals online and taking out hordes of zombies for points.
If Resident Evil Village is anything to go by, however, you’ll need to finish the entirety of the single-player campaign in Resident Evil 4 Remake to unlock this particular multiplayer mode. You can’t jump in straight away. At this point in time, there are few details to share about the Mercenaries mode.
Possible characters for RE4 Remake Mercs
Past Resident Evil games with this multiplayer mode do feature a long list of characters to choose from. In Resident Evil Village, you were able to play as the villains, including the fan-favorite Lady Dimitrescu and Heisenberg. Chris Redfield was also playable.
Resident Evil 4 Remake will likely include the main protagonist Leon Kennedy, Ashley, Luis, and possibly the Russian agent Jack Krauser. With Lady Dimitrescu being a playable character in Village‘s multiplayer mode, perhaps we could see the villain Ramon Salazar taking on the infested as well. Maybe Jill Valentine could show up as a secret character in collaboration with the upcoming Death Island movie. Let’s hope it won’t be tough to defeat multiple El Gigantes at once as one of these heroes or villains.
