Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has gone gold and will ship on time

The game releases on October 20.

Better get ready to wear those Spidey suits again because Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has gone gold. Insomniac Games announced the news on their Twitter page Wednesday, and the studio also published a video with the cast psyched about the game going gold. At this point, it’s unlikely that the game will get delayed.

“It has happened, the time is now,” said Miles Morales’ actor Nadji Jeter in the video. “Not bronze, not silver, but gold.” He then proceeded to shout the announcement to the world.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 going gold means that the game is now getting pressed into discs. There will likely be a day one patch, but the 1.0 version of the game is now getting made and shipped to warehouses and stores around the world.

“I just want to say that I love you and I’m so stoked for this game and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it,” said Laura Bailey, who plays Mary Jane Watson in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released exclusively for the PS5 on October 20, just one month away. There is no word on a PC version yet.

Insomniac Games seems to be the most productive studio under PlayStation for this generation. It has released Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and very soon, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Additionally, Marvel’s Wolverine is in the works at Insomniac Games.

To help fans get ready for the game, there’s a prequel comic that leads into the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
