Madden NFL 11 demo out July 27 on PS3 and 360

Last year, the Madden NFL 10 demo situation irked many gamers. Two separate demos existed — one of which was a GameStop-exclusive pre-order bonus — and the demo that was available for folks who didn’t pre-order the game at GameStop was a much crappier demo, offering only one-minute quarters instead of five-minute quarters. (To add insult to injury, the public demo was exclusive to Xbox Live Gold subscribers for one week.)

This time around, EA Tiburon is doing right by Madden fans. The Madden NFL 11 demo will hit Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network on July 27th, and it’s going to be a full-featured representation of the final product. The fans voted on the match-up for the demo, picking this year’s Jets-Colts AFC Championship game — except in the demo, the Jets will host the game in the brand-new venue in East Rutherford, NJ, New Meadowlands Stadium, that they will still be sharing with the Giants.

Demo players will have the opportunity to put the game through its paces: all gameplay/AI sliders and difficulty levels will be available for you to mess around with, and you can try out the all-new GameFlow and Gameplanning features. (In fact, if you create and save a gameplan in the demo, you’ll automatically unlock the “Master Strategist” Achievement/Trophy in the full game. Another bonus: a special Madden Ultimate Team card for Jets Stadium that improves defense.) And unlike last year, the demo will have audio commentary from new play-by-play man Gus Johnson and returning analyst Cris Collinsworth.

After playing the demo, you’ll only have to wait another two weeks for the full game. Madden NFL 11 will launch for PS3 and 360 — along with Wii, PSP, PS2, iPhone, and iPad — on August 10th.
