Walk down your nearest Best Buy’s Wii section and try not to be attacked by useless pieces of plastic and random things you’ll never need for your Wii. It’s not possible, those things are vicious. The accessories market on the Wii is massive, and mostly useless. Hell, most of the accessories out there can’t even be thought of as cool collector’s items since so few of them are connected to Nintendo themselves in any way. Those looking for a little more panache (or at least recognizable videogame characters) in their Wii accessories will be happy to hear that Mad Catz has inked a deal with Nintendo to use popular Nintendo characters in their products.

Mario can finally be on that cheap, plastic tennis racket! Praise heaven! Actually, if Mad Catz makes anything as cool or unique as their Street Fighter IV FightPads for the Wii and DS I’ll scoop that stuff right up and make sweet lovin’ to it. What do you think? Anything awesome the guys at Mad Catz could do with this license or will it be wasted on a bunch of useless junk that no one actually wants.
