Since the success of the Steam Deck, manufacturers have been warming to the idea of a portable PC, and more competitors are throwing their hats into the ring. The latest reports suggest that Lenovo may be the next to release a handheld gaming PC.

Lenovo could have a handheld gaming PC on the way

According to a report from Windows Central, the device is called the Legion Go. It will compete with the Steam Deck and the recently released Asus ROG Ally, and it’s expected to sport an 8-inch display, which would make it larger than its direct competitors, which both feature 7-inch displays.

The rumored gadget will run Windows 11, and it will be powered by AMD’s new Phoenix processors, which could result in a powerful system. Revealed this year, the processors are used in several gaming machines including the Razer Blade 14 (2023), Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, and Acer Nitro 16.

None of the reports have been confirmed by Lenovo, though if true, this won’t be the company’s first foray into the handheld gaming market. An Android-based cloud gaming device called the Legion Play was never officially released, though a few prototype units went on sale in China.

The Go would expand the Legion range of gaming PCs which includes laptops such as 2023’s Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 8. Windows Central does not report a release date for the Go, though Lenovo will have to hurry if it wishes to secure a spot for itself in the growing handheld gaming PC market.
