Like many online gamers, I was an avid Apex Legends player for years. I’ve since trailed off and haven’t played in a long time, but a new event is calling to me like a deafening roar in the night sky.
Apex Legends x Godzilla is bringing the iconic monster to the game in numerous ways, including 10 skins for Legends, nine weapon skins, and Twitch drops as part of a collab to promote the new film Godzilla Minus Zero, which hits theaters today.
Reminiscent of a Call of Duty: Warzone event a few years ago that featured both Godzilla and King Kong, Apex’s version features the giant nuclear lizard on the Storm Point map, stomping around and causing havoc while you play.
“Storm Point is in the midst of a Godzilla attack,” Respawn Entertainment explained. “Damaged buildings, burnt trees, fallen signs, and other destruction left by Godzilla’s rampage are littered across the map, while Godzilla itself looms above. Venture into a blast zone before Godzilla’s Heat Ray strikes and find the Care Package to claim a custom Devotion with a devastating heat ray attack that tracks enemies on hit. Now it’s your turn to leave a trail of destruction.”
And man, I haven’t felt this compelled to play Apex in a very, very long time. I’ve just sort of strayed away from multiplayer and BR titles in general. But when you throw Godzilla into something, I’m likely to have my ears perk up a bit.
Unfortunately, the event does seem to have the similar monetization as previous events, meaning you will need to spend about $300 to unlock everything. Yikes. But still, I think the Storm Point Godzilla makeover will be worth checking out.

I already have IMAX tickets secured for Minus Zero on Saturday, so if the movie is as good as I’m expecting it to be (I loved Minus One), then I may have to re-download Apex for the first time since 2024 for when the event goes live on Nov. 10.
