Xenoblade Chronicles 3 locations

Leave it to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to deliver more beautiful locations

Here’s a pretty good look at Aionios

So far what we’ve seen of Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s locations look on point, and this week Nintendo is showing off more of the world of Aionios.

Shared by way of Nintendo’s YouTube account (and Twitter), at least one zone has the classic Xenoblade look and feel of a lush water-filled environment (similar to Gaur Plain), and “Aionios” itself is most definitely appropriate nomenclature for a Xenoblade universe. As a reminder, Nintendo describes Aionios as “the rich world where you’ll begin your journey to end the cycle of violence between two opposing nations in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.” Those two nations are Agnus and Keves. Through the clip below, we’re able to get a glimpse at some of the verticality of exploration, some teases into a few structures that will likely have story ramifications, and of course, several enemy designs.

For me, it’s hard for the team to really top Satorl Marsh from the first game. It’s such a gorgeous area and it’s the first thing I think of when I hear the phrase “Xenoblade Chronicles.” Walking through it was a joy in the original and made me recall some of the best zones from ’90s JRPGs, and going back through it in the Switch edition was a treat.
