King Arthur RTS features monsters, also British people

Today Neocore Games (Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come) debuted an assortment of art assets for their upcoming PC RTS King Arthur. Above, you’ll also notice a teaser trailer for the game. It not only helps setting the tone of the game, but also sheds some light as to the scale of battle.

King Arthur appears to be much like a traditional RTS, but Neocore is insisting it is much more. On the official website for the game, it is listed as a “Role-playing Wargame,” which is meant to assure potential players that several other genre-borrowing elements are at play. The details are a bit slim, but we do know that there will be some city building (Camelot), recruitment, and those moral choices that Peter Molyneux loves so much incorporated into the package.

The back story for the game explains that whole monster thing that you may have noticed in the trailer. Right when Arthur pulls Uther’s sword from the stone and claims the throne, monsters begin sprouting up. Naturally, it’s up to Arthur and his knights to kill them in epic battles full of mouse-clicking fury and bad history.
