Jett: The Far Shore, the latest from Sword & Sorcery co-creator Superbrothers A/V and Pine Scented Software, has set a launch date. The space adventure game will lift off on Oct. 5, 2021 for PlayStation 4, PS5, and PC via the Epic Games Store.

In Jett, you set off with a crew of interstellar adventurers, playing the role of scout and “anchorite” Mei. Venturing out onto a strange ocean planet, you fly the titular jett around and skim over waves, inspect local wildlife and plant life, and adapt to unknowns of what this rock has to offer. All the while, you and your crew are investigating the “hymnwave,” described as an “interstellar invitation” that has called people to look beyond their own skies and toward the stars.

As shown in a trailer during today’s Gamescom Opening Night Live 2021, Jett: The Far Shore will also let you hang out with the crew and get to know Mei’s fellow scouts, as they work together to explore the planet. It’s all set to a score by Scntfc, who’s previously worked on games like Oxenfree and the “Moon Grotto” EP for Superbrothers: Sword & Sorcery.

Every time Jett: The Far Shore has popped back up at a showcase or stage show, it’s looked pretty dang gorgeous and intriguing. There are a lot of rad indies launching this fall, and Jett seems like a good one to pick up for some PlayStation 5 playtime.

We’ll see what mysteries the waters hold when Jett: The Far Shore launches on Oct. 5. You can find it on the PlayStation Store and Epic Games Store here.
