The Switch has had a good year. A very good year actually, because in just under 365 days it managed to peddle roughly 15 million units worldwide. Nearly every country, including many in Europe, managed to break Nintendo hardware sales records and contribute to that number.

A lot of that push is from Japan, who as of this week based on Famitsu’s sales tracker chart, just reached the four million sold milestone. This is right below the pace of the Wii, which pushed four  million units in 54 weeks, whereas the Switch took 56 weeks — still, it’s close!

Seeing the Switch fly off the shelves, both literally and figuratively, has been a blast. It’s good to see Nintendo back in the game again.
