While some people claim that the Metal Gear series is tied to realism, I always ask them — hey do you remember the vampire guy who could run up walls, or the guy who spits out weaponized bees?

The series always felt like a large-than-life cartoon to me, and that influence is very clear in these fantastic drawings from artist Matt Synowicz, who recently updated his blog to include foes from the first and third Metal Gear Solid games.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Snake Eater, and these renditions are fantastic.
