With GTA 6 officially opening its pre-orders on June 25, i.e., in four days, speculations over the game’s base price have been running rampant. And that’s nothing new, since players have feared that GTA 6 will be the first game to break into $90 or even $100 territory and set a new standard for greedy publishers.
And that has never been closer to reality, as a Portuguese shop seems to have leaked its listings for GTA 6. They aren’t pretty whatsoever and appear to confirm that, yes, Rockstar is heading toward a $100 base price for its latest title.

As per The Sixth Axis, one Portuguese retailer listed GTA 6 at prices between €89.99 and €199.99, or ~$103 to ~$229.45. Now that’s what I call expensive. It sort of confirms that GTA 6 will end up costing near $100 for its base price, with five whole editions for the game, as per these listings.
They are priced at €89.99, €99.99, €109.99, €119.99, and, finally, €199.99. The first one is assumed to be the base edition, since these SKUs don’t have an official name but carry the moniker “RS” and are set for a Nov. 19 release date, so we can only speculate that the latter are deluxe editions, special editions, or even purchases involving the future version of GTA Online.
Prices are to be officially revealed in the coming days, or on June 25, when pre-orders unlock.
One thing worth noting is that, though these are scary prices, they usually include VAT since this is the EU we’re talking about, but can also be local retailer prices that tend to be marked up over market prices.
For example, I live in a country in the Balkans, and local retailer shops sell physical discs for €10 to €20 or even more than digital stores, primarily due to VAT, but also because retailers over here love to overcharge their customers.
So, at any rate, this isn’t so conclusive but does imply that GTA 6 will cost at least $79.99 come June 25. But we’ll know for sure on Thursday.
