How to use the crane and transfer objects in RoadCraft

The crane, or the crane truck, is one of the most useful vehicles in RoadCraft, and mastering its movements can take a bit of time.

This vehicle is specifically required to lift heavy items and help in their delivery. You’ll often come across loose items that will have to be placed in the correct piles for you to deliver them to the required locations. This guide will help you to master the crane controls as quickly as possible.

How to use the crane in RoadCraft

You will be introduced to the crane early in the game, and it’s part of the extended tutorial. Your first task with it will be to pile six concrete slabs in the proper location so that they can then be delivered to a different destination.

Here’s everything you need to know about how the crane works. The movement of the crane truck happens just like any other vehicle in the game, but there are advanced controls you’ll need to understand.

• Move close to the item you want to pick.
• Press 1 to attach the ropes to a load. Press it once more if you want to let the load go.
• If you’re planning to place the cargo on a vehicle, make sure to press 5 to toggle the attach mode. To mount the item properly, you’ll have to grab it from all corners.
• Press 6 once the work is done to fold the crane.

Lifting an item and placing it on a suitable vehicle might seem confusing, but it is quite simple. Once you’ve picked up an item, you’ll have to use the following items.

• The Left Mouse Button allows you to control the Boom of the crane, which is essentially its functional rod at the back. You can move the mouse horizontally or vertically to move the rod.
• Press the Right Mouse Button to control the rope length (this is available if you’re holding an item with the crane’s rope).
• Press 7 to toggle the Anchors, which will prevent the crane from moving as you use it to grab and move different items.
