Final Fantasy XIV Throw Snowball emote

How to unlock the Throw Snowball emote in FFXIV

Pelt your friends with snowballs!

There are a ton of emotes in Final Fantasy XIV, and it can get kind of overwhelming learning how to unlock them all. For those who want to chuck snowballs, you may be interested in acquiring the proper emote to do so. Unfortunately there’s not a specific Throw Snowball emote, but if you have the Throw emote and stand over snow, you can throw snowballs in FFXIV.

The first step towards getting the Throw emote is to head to the Coerthas Central Highlands region. Specifically, you want to head to the X: 24, Y:27 coordinates, and speak to Maucolyn. Mauclyn will give you the quest Toss Fit Workout, which is required to unlock the Throw emote. If you look at the red circle in the map above, you that is where you can find Maucolyn and pick up the quest.

Once you have the Toss Fit Workout quest, you just need to go talk to the NPC nearby. Doing so will complete the quest and unlock the Throw emote in FFXIV.

Now that you have the Throw emote, simply head to any area where there is snow on the ground. In fact, the area where you pick up the quest has snow on the ground, so you can throw snowballs there. Some of the major cities in Eorzea will sometimes have snow on the ground as well, like Gridania.

Once you’re standing over snow, use the Throw emote or type /throw. The game will automatically detect that you are standing over snow, and your character will pick up and chuck a snowball.

That’s how you unlock the Throw emote and Throw Snowballs in FFXIV. Just make sure you are standing ontop of snow when you perform the emote, or else you won’t throw snowballs.
