How to unlock the Casino in Stardew Valley

It's like pixelated Vegas in here.

Within Stardew Valley, there’s a Casino which can only be accessed after completion the rather long “Mysterious Mr. Qi” quest line. This quest line consists of multiple steps (though not as many steps as Mr. Raccoon‘s quest line), each with its own requirements to fulfill.

Before you begin this quest line, you’ll need to have repaired the bus in order to get to the Desert, and it’s a good idea to gather the items you’ll need in order to complete it:

  • 10 Beets

Mysterious Mr. Qi – Step 1: Battery Pack

To get started with this quest line, take Battery Pack to the tunnel which is situated in the small area to the West of the Bus Stop. Go inside and navigate the darkness, searching for a small box on the back wall. It’s the only thing you can interact with in the entire tunnel, so you should find it pretty quickly.

Once you’ve found the box, place the Battery Pack inside in order to start the quest line and be given your first ‘task’.

Mysterious Mr. Qi – Step 2: Rainbow Shell

Your first task is to take a Rainbow Shell to the Train Station, which is located in the North of the map. You can only access this area after the 3rd of Summer during the first year, when an Earthquake clears the blocked path leading up to the new area.

Head to the Train Station and place your Rainbow Shell inside the box there. This will complete this step and you’ll receive your next task.

Mysterious Mr. Qi – Step 3: Beets

If you’ve successfully grown your 10 Beets, of whatever quality, head to Mayor Lewis’ house and place the Beets inside his fridge. Doing this will provide you with your next task, which comes in the form of a riddle:

“Give the sand dragon his final meal.”

Mysterious Mr. Qi – Step 4: Solar Essence

With your Solar Essence in hand, head to the Desert and locate the sand dragon. The sand dragon is the skeletal creature sticking out of the ground (pictured above). When you’ve found it, place the Solar Essence inside its head. Once you’ve done this, you’ll receive your final note in the sand dragon’s eye.

All you need to do now is head home and check the lumber pile next to your Farmhouse. Here you’ll find the Clubcard, which will grant you access to the Casino.

Access the Casino via the Oasis in the Desert. Once inside the Oasis, head down the corridor on the right and use the door at the end in order to get into the Casino.

There are two minigames available to you once you’re inside:

Before you can get started, you’ll need to exchange some Gold for Qi Coins by visiting the machine next to Mr. Qi himself. These Qi Coins can then be used to gamble on the minigames and also to purchase the items which are available in the Casino Store.
