Lu Bu and Diaochan are among the hardest to unlock generals in Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, but I will make things easier for you to understand in this guide. Unlocking both of them require you to complete specific in-game events. However, you can make things easier by unlocking both of them from the same run.
Let’s find out first how to unlock Lu Bu.

How to get Lu Bu in Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered
To unlock Lu Bu, you have to participate Battle of Hulao Gate. As far as I understand, the difficulty doesn’t matter, so you can choose your prefered settings.
- First, select the correct stage.
- Next, pick your prefered General.
- Ideally, go for someone who has decent Attack and Musou since we have to kill plenty of units.
Next, begin the battle, and work your way towards getting 1,000 KOs. Yes, that’s a huge number, and you’ll also need to be strategic. You’ll want to deliberately spread our your attacks to ensure that the run doesn’t conclude before you hit the magic figure.
You’ll also need to complete the run successfully. Simply getting 1,000 KOs will not be enough if the run ends prematurely. Once you end the run, you’ll get a notification that Lu Bu has been unlocked.

How to get Diaochan in Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered
To get Diaochan, you have to hope that appears on the same Battle of Hulao Gate. If she appears, you have to defeat her, and then complete your run. At the end of your run, Diaochan will become available as an Officer for you to pick from.
Lu Bu and Diaochan are only two of many officers who are present in the game. You can unlock more generals in Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered by completing specific targets.
