How to unlock Artist and Farmer lives in Fantasy Life i

The last two ones

The Artist and Farmer lives in Fantasy Life i are very different from the remaining options, as you’ll have to work extra to get access to them.

Twelve of the 14 available lives are easy to start as you can pick any (or all of them) you like. But the Artist and Farmer lives will be locked, and you’ll have to complete certain quests to pick them.

The main objective is to complete The Polturnip and the Leafe quest to unlock the Farmer life. You’ll have to save Edward by removing the giant red-colored vegetable. The quest begins after you have completed a fair bit of in-game progress and gained access to Faraway Island. Your job is to find a farmer in the Guild who is incidentally a Strangeling.

Go to the Goddess to change Pino back to human form. Assist the tree to survive the cold and return to present to save Edward. Pause the game, and go back to past. Then, go to Aunt Anne, and she will hand over the Farmer’s License.

The first quest associated with the Farmer life is to complete the From Farmers, With Love. This can be triggered by going to Faraway Island and speaking with the Farmer Life Master present at his base.

The Artist life is easier in comparison to the Farmer life, and the best way to do so is to complete The Artist’s Treasure Hunt main quest. You’ll once again have to save Edward, who is locked behind a statue. You’ll have to destroy the statue to save him.

Once done, go back to the past and speak with Anne and Rem. Then, visit the Tropical Isles and find the Artist Guild. Return to Anne in the past after finding the treasure and observe the art competition between Kikyo and Paulette. Anne will now provide you with the Artist’s License.

As good as the Artist and Farmer lives are, they’re not available when you start. However, there are plenty of options (12, in fact), and some of them are much better suited for beginners.
