How to revive party members in Baldur’s Gate 3

"Ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive!"

The world of Dungeons & Dragons is merciless, and your Baldur’s Gate 3 characters could die, whether you like it or not. You’ll need to revive fallen party members who died in combat, and thankfully, it’s fairly cheap to bring them back. Here’s how to revive in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to revive Baldur’s Gate 3 party members

There are a couple of ways to revive Baldur’s Gate 3 party members. First, you can speak to Withers. He’ll appear in your camp around the time you defeat the three goblin bosses like Dror Ragzlin or find Withers in the Dank Crypt near the Overgrown Ruins in Act 1. He simply showed up in my playthrough despite missing his side quest.

Regardless, Withers will offer you the chance to bring back a dead party member. For example, Astarion could have been devoured by zombies or scorched by flames after getting knocked down. To revive Astarion or another character in Baldur’s Gate 3, select “I need to resurrect someone.” Choose the person you want to resurrect and then pay the 200 Gold that Withers requests for his services. He’ll then use his magic to bring back the party member with full health.

Is there another way to bring them back from the dead?

If you don’t have the cash, there is another way. The Scrolls of Revivify are very rare items found across the world of Baldur’s Gate 3, but they can be used to bring a character back to life. I had around five scrolls at the beginning of Act 2. Select the Revivify scroll and then click on the character you want to bring back, like Shadowheart. They’ll then get back up to their feet like nothing ever happened. However, they’ll only have 1 HP, so make sure you have to plan to heal them if you’re mid-battle.
