How to Register a Stolen Ship in Starfield

Piracy ain't easy, especially when you don't know how to register your stolen ship.

Engaging in piracy in Starfield can be very fun, not to mention rewarding. You can demand ships hand over their cargo hold, as well as board and commandeer ships entirely. From there, you have the option of simply adding the ship to your own fleet to fly around, or selling the ship. If you want to upgrade anything on the ship or are looking to sell it, you will need to know how to register a stolen ship in Starfield.

Registering a stolen ship in Starfield

First, you need to head to a Ship Services Technician. This NPC is typically found in main cities in the ship landing area. When you first disembark your ship, you should see the Ship Services Technician. Akila City, Neon, Jemison, and Concordia all have a Ship Services Technician you can visit. You can also find the full list of Ship Service Technicians here.

Upon speaking with the Ship Services Technician you will have the option to register your stolen ship. First, choose the option to view and modify your ships. Once there, you can cycle through your current ships until you find the stolen one. If you have your stolen ship selected, you should see a Register option in the bottom right. Click it or press the respective hotkey to do so.

Unfortunately, registering your ship is not cheap. It will cost about 85% of the ship value. However, once registered, you can now modify or sell it without issue. Even though the fee for registering a ship will take a lot of the profit from selling the stolen ship, you can usually still make a few thousand credits doing so.

Regardless of what you intend to do with the ship, you now know how to register a stolen ship in Starfield. If you plan on selling the ship, you can actually do so at the same Ship Services Technician you just registered it with!
