How to play Elden Ring Nightreign early (New Zealand Method)

Why wait!

We don’t have long to wait before Elden Ring Nightreign launches worldwide on PC and console, but did you know you can get playing earlier if you’re on an Xbox console?

The upcoming launch is officially being released on PC and the current-gen consoles of both Xbox and PlayStation. Bandai Namco is following a different launch schedule for PC and consoles, as the latter will be relying on regional timings. This is where you can craftily utilize our good friend, aka the New Zealand Time Zone Trick, to get at least a few extra hours of gameplay.

Elden Ring Nightreign New Zealand Trick explained

For starters, this method is only usable if you’re on an Xbox console. If you’re on PlayStation, this method isn’t going to work. If you’re on PC, the game will go live simultaneously across all regions.

  • Open your console and go to Settings.
  • Go to System, and then choose Language & Location.
  • Choose New Zealand from the list of available regions (you can choose any other nation, but for this trick, you will want to go with our recommended choice).
  • Save the settings, and then restart your console.

Once the new location has been registered, your console will show the time and date as if you (or your console) were actually located in New Zealand. Once the clock strikes midnight in New Zealand, you’ll be able to enjoy the game.

There are a few catches to remember.

  • Elden Ring Nightreign is a server-based game, and there’s a strong probability that the servers are region-based. As such, some regional servers might go live at the correct times. This can only be verified after the game goes live.
  • The only alternative for PlayStation players is to create a fresh PSN account that’s set to New Zealand. However, it’s a lot of extra hassle for a few extra hours of gameplay.

There’s a strong chance that the New Zealand trick isn’t going to work for the following regions.

  • Central Daylight Time (CDT)
  • Pacific Daylight Time (PDT)
  • Colombian Time (COT)
  • Brazilian Time (BRT)

These four time zones have different schedules, even on consoles, so you might have to wait longer to play. Make sure to check out our countdown to be aware of when the new title will go live.
