How to get the Redstone Launcher in Minecraft Legends

Building your unstable cannon

Most structures you can build early on in Minecraft Legends are for defense, but the Redstone Launcher is a very useful weapon you will want to utilize as soon as you can. While defending villages with Spawners, walls, and Arrow Towers is the way to go, when you come across the Piglin Hordes, you definitely need a ranged weapon. There are high walls, defensive towers, and, you guessed it, hordes of Piglins all spilling out of the place to swarm you. The Redstone Launcher lets you take a couple of shots at a time from the sidelines.

Cost to Craft

The ability to craft this weapon happens once you’re introduced to the giant portals in the Piglin Hordes. After that, gather the necessary resources. Once you know how to get Redstone, you will need 100 of them, along with 50 Wood and 100 Stone. It’s a hefty price, especially when you first start using it. Since you can only carry 150 Redstone at a time until you upgrade the Improvement, you can only build the Launcher once before you have to go find more Redstone. As you’ll see below, that can be a problem.

Building Tips

You won’t be building the Redstone Launcher to protect Villages from attacks but to break down enemy walls and towers from afar. The Launcher allows you to aim before it fires two rounds. Two shots at the same target, and then it overheats for several minutes. It’s great to fire a cannon at a tower and watch it fall in two or three hits, but it is such a slow weapon that you cannot rely on it alone.

To really make sure the weapon isn’t too overpowered, once you start firing, all of those Piglin hordes home in on your location. While you wait for your unstable cannon to sort itself out, the Piglins will actively try to destroy it. If it’s the only one you can build, you have to try to prevent that from happening. Setting up walls and Arrow Towers before you start firing will buy you time. Also, it seems like the Piglins follow you more than the Launcher itself. After firing, make good on your waiting time by setting up your next Spawner attacks, preferably away from your weapon.

Using your Improvements to expand your Redstone carrying capacity will help you be able to build more Redstone Launchers at a time. Regardless, Minecraft Legends is a strategy game, so it’s a good idea to protect your weapons. From collecting Lapis to build your Spawner, to choosing the best mounts, you will get to get creative with your strategies.
