As you progress deeper into the Mines in Fields of Mistria, particularly after you’ve broken through the Earth Seal and reached floor 41, you’re going to need to upgrade your armor and tools. Thankfully, Silver Ore is here to help.
Before you dive into the Mines, particularly at such a high (or should that be low?) level, you’ll need to do some prep work. It’s a good idea to farm for Iron Ore first and upgrade your armor, weapon, and tools to Iron level. On top of this, you’ll need some back-up Stamina.
Good sources for getting some Stamina back are foods. My two favorites are Beet Soup, which gives 230 Health and Stamina back when consumed, and Lobster Roll, which gives back 150 of each. If you don’t have the recipes for these and are low on funds to purchase them, the Full Restore Spell can be your best friend, but remember that this will consume 1 Mana each time it’s used.

Silver Ore can be found between levels 41 and 60 of the Mines. To get here, you’ll need to break through both the Water Seal and the Earth Seal.
When you reach floor 41, look out for Silver colored nodes. They look remarkably similar to Iron nodes, which you should be pretty familiar with at this point. With an Iron Pickaxe, you’ll need to hit each node at least three times before you’ll get any Silver Ore.
If you find any ‘x marks the spot’ dig spots, be sure to dig these up as they also drop Silver Ore. Treasure Chests will also provide large amounts of Silver Ore, although it’s quite rare to find these and they can sometimes be hidden by other breakables, so definitely keep an eye out for them.

If you’ve got pockets full of Tesserae, once you’ve got through the Earth Seal you’ll be able to purchase Silver Ore at the Blacksmiths for 100 Tesserae a lump. You can also purchase Silver tools and weapons there, at a cost of 3,000 Tesserae each.
How to use Silver Ore in Fields of Mistria

The main use for Silver Ore in Fields of Mistria is to upgrade your gear. It will initially take 10 Silver Ore to make one Silver Ingot, and then you’ll need four of those to craft any armor, weapon or tool. To simplify, you’ll need 40 Silver Ore to craft one item.
After you’ve reached Blacksmithing level 30, you can unlock the ‘Silver Expert’ Perk at Caldarus’ Statue, this will reduce the number of Silver Ore needed to craft a Silver Ingot by one, meaning you’ll need 36 Silver Ingots per item you want to craft.
