How to get PP Ups in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet 1

There’s a few options

Moves are the cornerstone of Pokemon builds. If you don’t have enough to go around, a single Pokemon can crumble in battle: you’ll want to use PP Ups to rectify that. Here’s how to get PP Ups in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

What do PP Ups do?

A tried and true classic item of the franchise, PP Ups can be essential for many Pokemon builds. Described as a “medicine that can be used to slightly raise the max PP of a single move that a Pokemon knows,” it does just that: using it on a Pokemon will increase the max PP (uses) of a move by 20%.

This is incredibly useful for powerful moves that are only 5/5 uses, but just note that there is a soft cap on how high you can raise the maximum number of uses.

Easiest method: You can buy PP Ups from the Chansey Supply store

After you complete the story, Chansey Supply stores will sell PP Ups for 10,000 Pokedollars each.

If you’re flush with cash, this is a super easy way to pick them up.

You can farm PP Ups in Tera Raids

If you want a lot of PP Ups in bulk, this is one of the easiest ways to get them. Simply choose six star or above tera raids from the online menu, and grind them out.

Many Pokemon will drop multiple PP Ups, saving you tons of cash, as well as time and effort.

PP Ups can be earned as a reward in the postgame Academy Ace Tournament

Like many items in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, you can also randomly earn them by way of the Academy Ace Tournament: but this method of grinding isn’t reliable for earning individual items.

Only grind out the tournament if there’s a bunch of endgame items you want from it, and are OK with any randomized loot table.

Least reliable method: PP Ups can be bought from the Porto Marinada auction house

After finishing out the Cascaraffa gym questline, the auction house will ne enabled at Porto Marinada. Go back each day to see if there’s items of interest to buy: including PP Ups (which often are grouped together).
