Unfortunately, while MW3 does ask for these specific types of kills for a number of challenges, the game doesn’t actually go into the details of what they entail. That can leave you confused, especially if you play a game, get a bunch of kills, and see none of them counted towards your challenge.

If you’re struggling, we’ve put together a full guide to help you out, including some great tips to help you get more Point Black kills in MW3.

Point Blank kills in MW3: Explained

MW3‘s Point Blank kills are eliminations that happen within a maximum distance of fiver meters. This means you need to get up-close-and-personal with your opponents, which obviously poses a major risk to your K/D ratio.

If you want to get these challenges completed, however, you’ll need to suck it up and sprint towards the enemy, and get as close as you can before you pull the trigger.

How to get easy Point Blank kills in MW3

Obviously, getting Point Blank kills is not easy. The closer you get to an enemy, the higher chance there is that they’re going to take you out. If you’re having a tough time, though, there are some things you can do to make your life a little easier.

Use your Tactical Grenades

If you find yourself getting close to enemies, but just not close enough, it could be a good idea to use your Tactical Grenades to help you make up the gap. Throw a Flash Grenade so they can’t see you coming, and by the time the effect wears off, you’ll hopefully be standing on their toes.

Play on smaller maps

Imagine trying to get Point Blank kills on a map like Afghan. That’s a punishment I wouldn’t wish on even my worst enemy. That’s why the small map playlists are your best friend if you’re trying to complete this challenge, because places like Shipment or Meat are already so small, the majority of your gunfights will be at close-quarters anyway.

Hip fire

Once you get in close, don’t bother trying to aim down your sight unless you absolutely have to, otherwise you’re wasting valuable milliseconds that you could have spent firing bullets at your opponent.

Use the slide mechanic

If you find yourself getting close but then eliminated before you get the kill, it could be worth sliding into the gunfight. Changing levels might make it more difficult for your enemy to hit you, giving you an advantage over your opponent.
