As you take to the battlefield in Marvel Rivals, you’ll explore many unique locations. All of the maps you can visit come with an array of special tasks to check off, like the Memento Mori achievement.
Map-specific missions like this one are some of the toughest quests to tackle, as all locations are quite large, so finding what you need to get them done can be tricky. If you’re having trouble checking off this one, here’s how to get the Memento Mori achievement in Marvel Rivals.

How to complete Memento Mori in Marvel Rivals
To complete the Memento Mori achievement, you need to use one emote in front of Apocalypse’s Sarcophagus in Thebes. There are a couple of key requirements you must meet to make this happen.
- Load into any Quick Match or Competitive round. Thebes is a Convoy map you can only explore and work on achievements for in either of these modes. I highly recommend only tackling achievements in Quick Match, as Competitive is a much more serious and important setting where you won’t have the time to do so.
- Get Thebes as your map. In every round, the map you’re playing on is randomly chosen. Because of this, you just have to keep playing until you randomly end up at the required location, as the Memento Mori achievement can only be tackled here.
- If you’re working on this task fairly soon after the map launched on July 23, there’s a temporary game mode called Quick Match (Thebes) you can select to always visit this location. It’s only available for five days, though, so once it’s gone, you’ll have to rely on random luck and chance to have a shot at getting this achievement done.
- Find Apocalypse’s Sarcophagus. It’s located right in front of the spawn room in the last portion of the map for the team that is trying to stop the convoy from reaching the end of the map. It’s not actually in the spawn room, though, so players on either side can find it to finish this quest.
- Perform one emote. While standing near Apocalypse’s Sarcophagus, perform any emote. As soon as you do, the Memento Mori achievement will be marked as complete.
Where to find Apocalypse’s Sarcophagus in Marvel Rivals
Apocalypse’s Sarcophagus is located right in front of one of the spawn rooms for the defending team. Specifically, it’s close to the spawn room near the very end of the map.
The overall easiest way to find it is to be a member of the defending team and to die at some point after the convoy has passed the first checkpoint. You’ll know you’re on the right side if you see the “Stop the Faith-Harvesting Engine!” message in the upper left corner.
If you’d rather not die to get there, focus on making your way over to the end portion of the map, which is the outdoor area. Somewhat close to where the door from the indoor section to the outdoor section is, you’ll spot an archway with a spawn room inside. Head through the archway to find Apocalypse’s Sarcophagus sitting right in front of the room.

To successfully use one emote in front of Apocalypse’s Sarcophagus in Thebes, you need to find Apocalypse while visiting the Thebes map location, then perform any emote near him. Sometimes, emote-related achievements are a bit finicky, so it’s a good idea to do at least a few of them around different spots by Apocalypse just to make sure it actually gets done.
