Genshin Impact talent books provide helpful level boosts to character talents alongside other resources. For some characters, farming these books easily means receiving the extra bump to push your team over the finish line with improved combat abilities, but their timed availability and uses may get a little confusing.
Where to find Genshin Impact talent books
These talent books can be in domains all across Teyvat. Similar to ascension materials, talent books vary and have differing rarity types.
If you want to level up your talents like Barbara‘s Shining Miracle, confirm the ability you want to improve. Next, press the right analog stick (or PC equivalent) to see what the required material is. It will then give you info on where to find the talent book. For the Guide to Freedom, which Barbara needs, you’ll need to visit the Frosted Altar Domain of Mystery. Press the confirm button on that tab, and the game will show you where on the map the required domain is.
The annoying thing is that you can only acquire this resource on certain weekdays. The best day to grind talent books of any kind is on Sunday. All of them, no matter the type, are available on that specific day. You can also craft talent books if you merge those that are of lower rarity.
What are domains?
Domains in Genshin Impact are hordes of enemies to take out within a specified time limit. They can be challenging, but it will be easier if you look at the top left of the character select screen. It shows what elements are best used in the domain you’ve selected. You’ll need resin to take on these domains so make sure you’re storing as much of that resource as possible during your adventures.
Once you’ve finished your battle with a horde, head to the tree and obtain your rewards. I was able to get two Guides to Freedom and five Teachings of Freedom during one run.
