One of the most important components you’ll need early on in your Subnautica 2 playthrough is basic batteries, which require a peculiar material known as the Acidic Raion Pouch. They’re tricky to find, especially when you’re first starting out and are still charting out the ocean’s resources.
How to find Acidic Raion Pouch in Subnautica 2
You can obtain Acidic Raion Pouch from Acid Raion plants around your Lifepod. The closest one you’ll find is inside a Coral Dome cave directly northeast of your starting location. You’ll need a Survival Multitool to break apart the Acid Raion plant.

Before you can break apart nearby Acid Raion plants for their pouches, you’ll first need to craft a Survival Multitool using three titanium. You’ll find titanium everywhere on the ocean floor, making it an abundant resource that you’ll stockpile quickly. Once you have three, head to your Fabricator and make the tool before venturing out on your search for some pouches.
Acid Raion plants are large, pink plants with brain-like pouches attached to their base. You can cut off three Acidic Raion Pouches per plant. You’ll also find a Medical Gel Sac in its center, which you can use to make enhanced first aid kits.
Normally, you’ll find Acid Raion plants inside caves, particularly those surrounding your Lifepod. While some are at the bottom of a cave’s entrance, others are secluded in small alcoves. The Welcome Center, a structure 80 meters southeast of the Lifepod, also has an Acid Raion plant directly outside one of its windows, with another located in the cave underneath its base.
