After wrapping up Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Rift in Time expansion, you’ll work with Jafar to discover why Eternity Isle has random 2D objects appearing. Over time, he’ll conduct multiple alchemical experiments, with the Serpent’s Gift quest diving deeper into his discoveries.
Disney Dreamlight Valley The Serpent’s Gift quest guide
The Serpent’s Gift is a quest you’ll unlock after reaching friendship level seven with Jafar. After reaching level seven and speaking to Jafar, he’ll tell you about a discovery he made during his latest alchemical experiments. Following the conversation, he’ll give you four Imagination Generators to place in the following locations:
- The Lagoon
- The Borderlands
- The Docks
- In front of Oswald’s house
You’ll need to take a quick trip to Eternity Isle and place the generators around these biomes and in front of Oswald’s house. It doesn’t matter where Oswald’s house is or where exactly you place each generator as long as they’re within each of the three listed regions.

Once you place down all four generators, you’ll have to wait ten minutes for them to charge up. This is a good time to befriend a villager, work on another quest, or complete a task in an ongoing Star Path.
Cheering up Oswald with poutine
Once you wait at least ten minutes for the Imagination Generators to charge up, you’ll need to return to Oswald to hear his thoughts on the situation. While the generators are supposed to make him happier, they have the opposite effect, making him feel empty inside.

What’s the initial solution to this dilemma? Poutine. As a Canadian who’s had poutine hundreds of times over the years, I think this was a great idea on the protagonist’s part.
Cooking poutine in Disney Dreamlight Valley requires getting your hands on the following ingredients:
- Potato
- Canola
- Cheese
The easiest way to get potatoes and cheese is to visit the Forest of Valor and the Forgotten Lands to buy their seeds or purchase them fully grown. Alternatively, the Wild Tangle and Ancient’s Landing frequently sell these items, allowing you to stay on Eternity Isle if you’d like. Cheese is the easiest of the three to find, as you can buy it from Chez Remy for 180 Star Coins.

Now that you have some delicious poutine for Oswald, it’s time to deliver it. While he’ll seem happy at first, you’ll both realize it didn’t help much, requiring your character to check up on other villagers to see if they’re experiencing the same issue.
Checking up on other villagers
Once you’re ready to set out once more, you’ll need to check up on the following villagers:
- Gaston
- Scrooge McDuck
- Rapunzel
As you speak to each villager, you’ll quickly realize that everyone has been affected. It makes for some funny dialogue, which I’ll avoid spoiling so you can experience it yourself.
Outside of their peculiar behavior, one thing is constant: they all mention EVE. After a quick chat with her, you’ll both confirm that Jafar planted something in each villager’s home and that investigating them is the right course of action.
Starting with Rapunzel’s house, you’ll find the first object, a copper serpent statue, on the floor next to a chair. Interacting with it will remove the item, giving you some copper ore.

The next item, another serpent statue, is in Gaston’s house. In the far right corner of the house, you’ll spot the serpent on the floor next to some barrels.

The last location is Scrooge McDuck’s store. The shop also has a serpent statue, which you’ll spot behind the left staircase. This one is particularly tricky to spot, as you have to loop around the stairs and stand in front of the display window to see it.

See if everyone feels normal again
Now that you’ve destroyed the three serpent statues, it’s time to chat with the villagers again. Upon leaving Scrooge McDuck’s shop, you’ll see Rapunzel and Scrooge meet to discuss the situation. After that exchange, check in on Gaston for vital intel about Jafar’s plans. It’s time to take a trip to the Ancient Ruins.
Search for Jafar’s secret machine
If you haven’t been to the Ancient Ruins for a while, they’re the massive cave in Ancient’s Landing’s docks, right next to EVE’s house. Upon entering, head down the hole in the center of the area and travel down the hall to find the root of the problem.

Here, you’ll discover that, despite the time you’ve spent working together and befriending Jafar, he’s still up to no good and has Oswald locked in an energy prison. Jafar reveals that he sees a special power in Oswald and wants to use it to fulfill his ambitions. Fortunately, it’s not too late to stop him, as there’s a way to short-circuit the power sources.
Find the power sources and short-circuit them
Using your royal watering can, look for the following power sources:
- The red essence to the left of the room’s entrance.
- The red essence behind the stone pillar, directly across from the first source.
- The rainbow stone to the right of the room’s entrance.

Watering these three spots turns off the machine and distracts Jafar, allowing you to break the pillars with your royal pickaxe. Doing this wrecks it, saving Oswald and enabling you to talk to him about the ordeal. Despite the stress he likely experienced, Oswald ultimately determines that you shouldn’t toss Jafar back into his genie lamp and instead talk to him about the situation. Head out of the Ancient Ruins and look for him on your map to begin the quest’s conclusion.
Once you find Jafar and confront him, you’ll give him one final chance to redeem himself, concluding the Serpent’s Gift quest.
