Not done-done with Dondons yet

Many creatures inhabit the world ofĀ The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are plentiful, others are rare, and as Link discovers in The Beast and The Princess side adventure, some are extremely rare.

This side adventure is part of the Lucky Clover Gazette quest line inĀ Tears of the Kingdom. In it, Link and his reporter pal Penn travel to the stables around Hyrule, helping out with local problems and following leads on Princess Zelda’s whereabouts.

For this side adventure, you’ll head off to New Serenne Stable, in the upper-west corner of central Hyrule. You’ll find Penn here, waiting for his partner (that’s you) to chat about some strange Zelda sightings.

According to locals, Princess Zelda was spotted riding a strange beast. It’s described in a farfetched manner, but if you’ve done some exploring down in the south of Hyrule, you probably already know what they’re talking about.

Penn will task you with discovering the truth, which are actually the Dondons. These adorable little monsters are in a sanctuary that Zelda helped establish, near the Lakeside Stable in southeast Hyrule.

Just head to the stable and soar north, towards the waterfalls, to find the sanctuary. Report to Penn, and he’ll want to head back and chat with the caretaker for the in-person scoop about the princess and her “beasts.”

This is an admittedly short side adventure compared to some others. Especially if you’ve already found the sanctuary before talking to Penn. If that’s the case, all you’ll need to do is talk to him to start the quest, then head to the sanctuary and chat with the caretaker.

Once the story has fully unfolded, you can collect your rupees from Penn, along with any other rewards you’ve accumulated from the number of Lucky Clover Quests you’ve done so far.

Take some time to enjoy your time around the Dondons, then head back to Traysi at the Gazette for your next assignment.
