How to complete A Disquieting Shop in Octopath Traveler 2

Itā€™s disquietā€¦ too disquietā€¦

A Disquieting Shop is a sidequest found in Stormhail in Octopath Traveler 2. In the item shop, youā€™ll find a terse ā€œfamilyā€ that is clearly in some sort of crisis. You arenā€™t given an explicit reason why.

The quest begins by talking with the daughter, so you know she canā€™t be the source of the problem. However, any information-related Path Action will reveal that the daughterā€™s father is a widow. Youā€™ll also see that the ā€œClingy Womanā€ is apparently the only one here who is all smiles. If you put two-and-two together, you might get an idea of what’s going on.

Even if you’re still confused, all will be made clear to you soon. You just need to resolve this situation with some good old-fashioned violence (unless you bring Castti).

Knockout the Clingy Woman

In order to resolve this quest, youā€™ll need to use Hikariā€™s Challenge, Ochetteā€™s Provoke, Throneā€™s Ambush, or Casttiā€™s Soothe on the Clingy Woman. Any of the first three will work if the respective characters are adequately leveled. Note that this encounter is a bit stronger than your average rodeo, so make sure to come prepared with your strongest attacks and equipment. That said, if you donā€™t have a party member who is quite up to this task, stick with using Casttiā€™s Soothe. Youā€™ll completely circumvent the battle this way.

After the woman is knocked out, the shopkeeper will call the Sanctum Knights. It turns out the woman was a thief who was holding him at knifepoint. Your reward for this quest is 12,000 leaves, a Sharp Nut, and a Slippery Nut. Thatā€™s all there is to it!
