The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the KingdomĀ is a grand open world RPG that will take you to the highest reaches of the sky and the lowest depths of the underground. This obviously means that the Tears of the KingdomĀ storage space will be massive. You may need to delete your favorite games like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet or evenĀ Breath of the Wild. Here’s how much Tears of the Kingdom storage space you need to keep handy.

In order to playĀ Tears of the Kingdom,Ā you will need at least 16.3 GB on either your System Memory or microSD card. This means you’ll likely need to delete some games from your storage. To do that, go to the Options menu on your Switch, indicated by a gear. Next, head down to “Data Management.” Scroll over to the right, and then choose “Manage Software.”

From here, you can see the storage size of each game. For example,Ā Super Smash Bros. UltimateĀ is a huge 17.3GB on the Nintendo Switch. It’s so small in comparison toĀ Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (which is 155GB), but for the Nintendo Switch, that’s quite massive.

Does any microSD card work?

Unlike the PlayStation Vita, the Nintendo Switch doesn’t rely on proprietary storage options. You can buy any microSD card as long as it’s 2TB or smaller. Nintendo recommends that the microSD card you choose is UHS-IĀ  compatible and has a transfer speed between 60 and 95 MB/sec. microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC are all supported. There are even officially branded Nintendo microSD cards you can buy, but standard cards are usually cheaper to purchase.
