Jing Yuan Lighting-Lord build in Honkai: Star Rail

While there are several builds for Jing Yuan in Honkai: Star Rail, we’re going to go over the overall best build which is maximizing the damage done by the Lightning-Lord summon. This is the best build to ensure you will do the most damage.

How the build works

The Jing Yuan Lightning-Lord build works buffing up the Lightning-Lord as much as possible. First off, Jing Yuan’s Skill, Rifting Zenith, has the secondary effect of increasing Lightning-Lord’s Hits Per Action by 2 for the next turn, which is huge. Furthermore, the secondary effect of his Ultimate, Lightbringer, increases Lightning-Lord’s Hits Per Action by 3 for the next turn.

Now let’s look at Jing Yuan’s Talent, which is where the build starts to make sense. His Talent, Prana Extirpated, summons Lightning-Lord at the start of the battle. By default, Lightning-Lord has 60 base SPD and 3 Base Hits Per Action. When Lightning-Lord takes action, its hits are considered follow-up attacks, with each hit dealing Lightning DMG equal to 66% of Jing Yuan’s ATK to a random single enemy, and enemies adjacent to the hit also receive Lightning DMG equal to 25% off the DMG dealt to the target enemy.

Furthermore, Lightning-Lord’s Hits Per Action can reach a maximum of 10. Each time Lightning-Lord’s Hits Per Action increases by 1, its SPD increases by 10. As you can probably guess, this can make Lightning-Lord very powerful as long as we’re boosting it up accordingly as the more Hits Per Action Lightning-Lord has, the faster it is and the more damage it will do.

Finally, Jing Yuan’s Bonus Ability Battalia Crush increases the CRIT DMG of Lightning-Lord by 25% if its Hits Per Action is greater than or equal to 6, which with both the Skill and Ultimate we can easily reach.

Eidolons

Here are the best Eidolons for this Lightning-Lord Jing Yuan build:

  • Slash, Seas Split – When Lightning-Lord attacks, the DMG multiplier on enemies adjacent to the target enemy increases by an extra amount equal to 25% of the DMG multiplier against the target enemy.
  • Swing, Skies Squashed – After Lightning-Lord takes action, DMG caused by Jing Yuan’s Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate increases by 20% for 2 turns.
  • Spin, Stars Sieged – For each hit performed by the Lightning-Lord when it takes action, Jing Yuan regenerates 2 energy.
  • Sweep, Souls Slain – Each hit performed by the Lightning-Lord when it takes action will make the target enemy Vulnerable. While Vulnerable, enemies receive 12% more DMG until the end of the Lightning-Lord’s current turn, stacking up to 3 times.

Four of the six Eidolon’s for Jing Yuan focus around his Lightning-Lord, which is exactly what we want with this build. While Jing Yuan’s basic attack, Skill, and Ultimate won’t do too much damage, all of it synergizes to beef up his Lightning-Lord which will then do massive amounts of damage. It not only hits hard, it hits often, many times, and with Area of Effect.

Relics

When it comes to Relic Sets for this Jing Yuan build, you have a few options. However, I would definitely prioritize The Ashblazing Grand Duke Relic Set as it is without a doubt the best one for this build. Here are the Relic Sets you can consider:

  1. The Ashblazing Grand Duke – 2pc: Increases the DMG dealt by follow-up attacks by 20%. 4pc: When the wearer uses follow-up attacks, increases the wearer’s ATK by 6^ for every time the follow-up attack deals DMG. This effect can stack up to 8 times and last for 3 turns. This effect is removed the next time the wearer uses a follow-up attack.
  2. Band of Sizzling Thunder – 2pc: Increases Lightning DMG by 10%. 4pc: When the wearer uses their Skill, increases the wearer’s ATK by 20% for 1 turn.
  3. Musketeer of Wild Wheat – 2pc: ATK increases by 12%. 4pc: The wearer’s SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.

Planar Ornaments

As with the Relic Sets, you have a few options for this Jing Yuan build in terms of Planar Ornaments. However, Inert Salsotto is better than the other options and should be a priority. Here are the Planar Ornaments you want:

  1. Inert Salsotto – 2pc: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%. When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.
  2. Firmament Frontline: Glamoth – 2pc: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD is equal to or higher than 135/160, the wearer deals 12%/18% more DMG.
  3. Space Sealing Station – 2pc: increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s ATK increases by an extra 12%.

With this best Jing Yuan build for Honkai: Star Rail, your Lightning-Lord summon will be doing fast and insane bursts of AoE damage for pretty much every encounter.
