HoYoverse, the company behind several gacha hits, has announced a follow-up to one in Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2. The next step in Honkai Impact 3rd‘s journey is due to depart in February 2024.
While many in the western world became familiar with HoYoverse / miHoYo through Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd was the game that came before, and still holds a solid playerbase throughout its seven-year lifespan. This new chapter, Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2, heads to Mars.

It seems like Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 is a direct follow-up to the base Honkai Impact 3rd, but in what manner, I’m not sure. HoYoverse looks to be improving the combat, exploration, and more in Part 2, as well as departing on a new story branch of some kind.
I’ve played some Genshin and actually really dug Honkai Star Rail, but 3rd has eluded me a bit. Still, that might make this new release of Honkai Impact 3rd a good jumping-on point. Taking some of the popularity drummed up by Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, and then funneling it back into the two games’ predecessor, would be a good play to grab some curious folks already intrigued by HoYoverse’s world.
A world away
Still, Part 2 isn’t the only impending HoYoverse title. Alongside updates to Genshin and Star Rail, the company is also still working on Zenless Zone Zero, a stylish action RPG that’s been on my radar for a while.
HoYoverse recently confirmed that Z3 (as I call it in Slack) is coming to consoles, alongside a PC and mobile version. It’s unclear when that might be, exactly, but it’s a nice addition.
And it’s another game to add to the growing roster of HoYoverse titles. Keeping up with them all seems like quite a lot, but if you like the look and charm of these games, it sure seems like you won’t be hurting for more of them next year.
