Hideo Kojima has promised Zone of the Enders 3

Last week, Hideo Kojima stated that a new Zone of the Enders was at the top of his to-do list, providing a modicum of hope to those who want to see a new entry in the mech-battling series. Now the Metal Gear Solid creator has truly committed, promising that the game will happen.

I cannot make a promise about time. However, I can promise a sequel,” offers the mad genius.

He also explains why Zone of the Enders didn’t sell very well, claiming that he timed the release wrong: “Everything was due to an error by me. At that time, if I hadn’t made a mistake with the release date, [the game] might have ended up a major Kojima Productions title to follow MGS, still seeing development as a series.”

Don’t beat yourself up too much about it, Hideo. I’m sure that all will be forgiven as soon as Zone of the Enders 3 arrives in 2025.
