Here’s the World of Warcraft: Legion opening cinematic, almost a year before release

Needs more Orcs

World of Warcraft: Legion is still the better part of a year away. That hasn’t stopped Blizzard releasing its opening cinematic though, and dang does it look good.

The trailer shows human and Forsaken airships descending to fight against evil warlock Gul’Dan, while the Burning Legion are throwing glowy green shit right back at them as any good baddies would.

Not enough Horde presence for my liking, but hey, Warlords of Draenor did happen so I suppose it’s the Alliance’s turn to be relevant…

It also proves once again that when it comes to cinematics, Blizz is among the best. It’s also fun to compare this absolutely fantastic CG work with the weird, uncanny-valley nightmare that is the upcoming Warcraft film.

World of Warcraft: Legion will be released in September 2016 at the very latest. I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more about it before then.
