Helldivers 2 dev explains delay for fixes for known glitches

Warbonds make the process difficult.

Helldivers 2 is one of 2024’s most popular games, but like many titles, it’s been affected by bugs since its release. With some fans complaining about the lack of fixes, an Arrowhead community manager has explained what’s causing the delays.

In a message in the official Helldivers 2 Discord server following April 16’s patch 01.000.203, Spitz explained that most of the bugs in the known issues list are “actively being worked on, but they’re either large fixes that require a bit of time or low-priority issues behind other things, and most should be patched in the next major build.”

He then revealed that one of the major reasons slowing down bug fixes is the warbonds, as the current release schedule of one per month leaves them struggling to find the time to address problems.

On hearing this, fans of the game on Reddit immediately suggested that Arrowhead should skip a warbond for a month to focus on fixes. However, in response, Spitz said: “Sadly it’s not that simple, skipping a warbond for a month is a huge company decision.”

None of this is helped by the fact that there is no dedicated team who’s only job is to fix bugs either. As explained by the community manager: “The people who work on bugs with armor and guns are the same people who make the new guns and armor, so the nature of the bug really determines which team is focused on fixing it.”

Unfortunately, there are plenty of bugs that need to be looked into at the moment, with friend invites and cross-play severely affected, damage-over-time effects only working for hosts, and weapons like the Sickle that can’t shoot through the foliage.

For Helldivers 2 fans, the hope is that a majority of these glitches will be fixed when the next major update drops.
