Halo movie talk resurfaces: Like Hollywood was going to let that one go

With the Peter Jackson Halo movie project dead in the water thanks to money disputes, one could almost be forgiven for thinking that would be the end of it. Almost — because it’s naive to think that Hollywood would keep its stinking claws off of a popular videogame IP for long.

Stuart Beattie (Pirates of the Caribbean) has apparently gotten movie people hot under the collar by penning a script based on Halo prequel novel Fall of Reach. It seems that the buzz is so thick that artist Kasra Farahani (Spiderman, Hancock) has taken the liberty of drawing up some concept art for the eventual pitch to Microsoft.

It’s very obvious that the movie world wants a Halo film, but can everyone get on the right page for long enough to make it happen? Time, unlike the girl buried in your back yard, will tell.
