Groove out with Forza Horizon 3’s soundtrack

Turn 10 Studios has unveiled the soundtrack to Forza Horizon 3 on the world. It contains a whopping 150 songs that range from rock to rap and mostly everything in-between. Along with those tracks comes support for Microsoft’s “Groove” service.

Groove is similar to Pandora in that allows you to stream music to various smart devices through the magic of the internet. For some reason, modern consoles have done away with custom soundtracks, but now you can pretend Forza didn’t even have music to begin with!

If I was willing to pay for Groove, it would come in super handy. Looking through the list of songs, I feel tremendously old (I’m only 28!!!). I am familiar with some artists, but I don’t really know many. The biggest standout (mostly because of its meme status) is DMX’s “X Gon’ Give It To Ya.” There are tracks by Blink 182, Alkaline Trio, Bad Religion, The Offspring, alongside the perennial classic “It’s Tricky” by Run-DMC. Still, this is mostly comprised of songs from the 21st century.

Despite being a millennial, I’m stuck in an era where digital recording wasn’t a thing. I’m more fascinated by how Pinky Floyd was able to record “Time” then I am by how many notes a computer can process to make music. Maybe I was born too late…
