The goal here is to eventually rank every aspect of your build in Grand Blue so that you can select the best options from each category for what you’re going for. I will take into account both PVP and PVE. Here’s my Grand Blue Tier List and guide.

The best fruits in Grand Blue for PVP and PVE are Darkness and Fire to keep it simple. That said, the Chop fruit is also underrated for a specific reason as you’ll see below in the ranking explanations.
How to Get Fruit: You get Cursed Fruits from Fruit Chests which you can get from Codes (Linked at the bottom), certain quests like the early Wizard quest or buy them in the Shop with Robux or Celestial coins which you can get from Achievements and treasure quests.
How to Switch Fruits: You can easily switch between stored Fruits, Fighting Styles and more via the Closet/Wardrone on the top floor of the Food Foo build on the left side of the starter island.
S-Tier Fruits
| Fruit | Ranking Notes |
|---|---|
![]() Darkness Celestial | • The best PVP fruit in the game and competes with Flame as the best PVE fruit • The main reason it’s so good besides top tier DPS is the CC effects like pulling a group of mobs with Black Hole to AOE them down or pulling players with Vortex for combos • Plus Dark Matter deals the best burst damage in the game |
![]() Flame Mythic | • Melts enemies and bosses and is the best PVE fruit with incredible scaling for end-game • That said it’s decent for PVP too since you have sustain with Fireflies • Overall the top 2 fruit following Darkness |
![]() Chop Epic | • Chop is the third best fruit in Grand Blue and the reason is massive defense • You get resistance to slashing damage which is pretty much the majority of what both the PVE enemies and players are using • It doesn’t have the best damage but you get so much utility and range • Plus it combos well with other skills due to its stuns |
A-Tier Fruits
| Fruit | Ranking Notes |
|---|---|
![]() Bomb Epic | • A mini Flame/Darkness in terms of AOE damage but still quite good for PVE farming • It’s the best beginner fruit you can get |
![]() Wolf Legendary | • Wolf deals pretty great damage with the Bleed and is pretty good for PVP • It lacks AOE options that Darkness, Flame and Bomb have for PVE but it still deals impressive damage • If you get it early on a lucku Fruit Chest role consider going for a Strength build with a sword combo |
![]() Strength Rare | • Similar to Wolf but a bit weaker • Still good if you don’t have higher tier fruits as long as you combine it with other melee combat skills • In PVP, it’s great against the Chop fruit |
B-Tier Fruits
| Fruit | Ranking Notes |
|---|---|
![]() Drain Rare | • Weaker overall damage but you get sustain which is nice in PVE and PVP • It’s good against single strong enemies and PVP if you can land the moves • That said in terms of pure DPS, it gets overwhelmed by higher tier fruits |
![]() Spike Rare | • Weaker overall damage but great range and you have some AOE options • A decent beginner fruit that you want to replace later on |
![]() Cannon Uncommon | • Weaker than Rares and above but you do get some good beginner moves for PVE farming which is nice • Use it early and try to replace later on |
C-Tier Fruits
| Fruit | Ranking Notes |
|---|---|
![]() Spin Uncommon | • The weakest fruit in the game in terms of both DPS and synergy • I would try to get at least Cannon early on or better yet if you get lucky Bomb fruit |

When it comes to best races in Grand Blue the choice is very simple as you can see in the tier list. There’s just not a lot of variance in power when it comes to races with the two in S-Tier being must-haves. The rest are just varying degrees of situational usefulness and aren’t ideal.
How to Change Race: You can only change your race from the Customize Character screen in the main menu of the game once you start up Grand Blue (Provided you have Race Rerolls from codes and other sources).
S-Tier Races
| Race | Ranking Notes |
|---|---|
![]() Human Celestial Variant | • The best race in the game since you get an OP pet that you can stack skills and fruits on • It fights for you and overall provides a ton of pressure in both PVE and PVP • The discount isn’t bad either but it’s just a cherry on top compared to a personal guard |
![]() ![]() Beastfolk Cat & Bunny Variants | • Both variants are really good for overall PVE and you get even better at PVP during night • Sulong is really strong and once you level it to 10 you don’t get the self-debuff anymore • Either way there’s a huge gap between Celestial/Beastfolk and other races in terms of power |
A-Tier Races
| Race | Ranking Notes |
|---|---|
![]() Skyfolk | • Skyfolk and Dwarf immediately start being situational in terms of power compared to the two races above • Still, Skyfolk offers decent mobility for PVP with the extra dash and you can land some attacks while airborne for a little damage bump |
![]() Dwarf | • Dwarf is weaker than Skyfolk but it’s cooldown reduction does boost DPS a little compared to the B-Tier races • Plus you get some progression boosters and more HP which isn’t much but still better than B-Tier and below |
B-Tier Races
| Race | Ranking Notes |
|---|---|
![]() ![]() Human (Half Fish) & Seafolk | • Half Fish Human is just a better version of Seafolk and both are very situational with their swimming effects • The only usable buff here is the small damage boost which is very situational to get value out of |
![]() Human Long Armed Variant | • The extra reach sometimes gives you value for catching someone in a combo but still it’s very rare |
![]() Human Long Legged Variant | • You’ll sometimes dodge certain PVP attacks that you otherwise wouldn’t but it’s not worth keeping |
C-Tier Races
| Race | Ranking Notes |
|---|---|
![]() Human | • Beginner race that you should reroll as soon as you can |
That’s it for my . You can grab an easy Fruit Chest or trait/race rerolls right now and more with Grand Blue codes, they will drastically speed up your early progression.
