Gore Verbinski’s Blind Wink working on Kinect game

Recommended Videos

The production company behind the animated film Rango has partnered with Microsoft to “produce original interactive entertainment content exclusively for Microsoft platforms for worldwide distribution.” While not limited to videogames, Blind Wink’s first ensuing project will be for Xbox Live Arcade.

Interestingly enough, this is going to a Kinect game. It’s being developed internally at Blind Wink with a “late 2012” release in mind. I’m digging the company’s website, I’ll tell you that much. There simply aren’t enough compelling Kinect experiences, especially not on XBLA.

Consider me ever so slightly reassured that there is still time yet for creative folks en masse to make Kinect the whimsical device it has the potential to be.
