Platforming fans, rejoice! Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams finally arrives on consoles where it firmly belongs!

The game, which also happens to be the first Kickstarter-funded game to actually appear on XBLA, goes straight back to the roots of classic platform gaming, focusing on gem collecting and big action-packed stages full of secrets. It’s up right now for 1200 MS points, with a PSN release scheduled for mid-April and a Wii U eShop release shortly thereafter.

Speaking with Black Forest Gaming today to celebrate their console release, managing director Adrian Goersch talked to me a bit about their future plans: “We’re so proud of having Giana finally appearing on Xbox Live Arcade, and for her to be the first Kickstarter funded game on the service. We got plenty in store for the near future. First, the DLC we are working on will be called Owl Revenge and we hope to bring it to XBLA in summer. It will contain all new tracks from Chris Hülsbeck and Machinae Supremacy. Also we are considering a skin package with new skins for Giana. Giana Sisters HD (An HD remake of Giana Sisters DS) will be a launch title for OOYA, and we are currently evaluating a Linux port of Twisted Dreams.”

Goersch also noted that the Wii U version is currently being developed and going smoothly. BFG will be holding a live show at 1 PM EST tomorrow, where Machinae Supremacy will stop by and the team will discuss more details about what to expect in Giana‘s future.
