Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is coming to PC in May

Ghost your friends for this one.

After years of PlayStation exclusivity, the incredible Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is finally coming to PC in just a couple of months. The game will feature everything from the expanded version on PS5, as well as a host of PC-exclusive features designed to heighten the experience for those with the right setup.

Revealed earlier today on the official PlayStation Blog, Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut will be released on PC on May 16, 2024. Developer Sucker Punch’s open-world samurai title features a gorgeous environment to explore in the single player adventure, as well as a multiplayer co-op mode for up to four players to battle through using skills honed in the base game. With Horizon Forbidden West out this month for PC too, it’s going to be hard to squeeze anything else in until the summer.

Packing in some extras for higher-end computers

PC-specific features for this version of the game include unlocked framerates, various graphics settings and presets, and completely customizable controls. It also has ultrawide monitor support, which I highly recommend you use if you can for the beautiful vistas around every corner. Image boosting technology and upscaling using NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3 are supported, too, meaning this will be the best-looking version of Tsushima you could possibly see outside of visiting it yourself.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is available to pre-order now on Steam. Anyone who purchases the game in advance will receive the Broken Armor Dye, Traveler’s Attire, and a new horse for use in New Game +. This game can eat up hours, which, to me at least, makes any bonus item you can get well worth it because you know you’ll be seeing and using them for tens of hours once the game is out.

I, and many other PS4 and PS5, players thoroughly enjoyed this game when it was initially released in 2020. The real draw of the Director’s Cut is the inclusion of the Iki Island expansion. this adds a huge new open world for players to explore, and it’s packed with unlockable armor to help you get through the remainder of the base game if you choose to tackle it early.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut really is the complete package when it comes to open world games. Players find themselves caught up in the middle of Tsushima’s Mongol invasion. Taking on the role of Jin Sakai, you’ll experience the full spectrum of emotions through his eyes as you free the island from Mongol control but come face to face with certain realities that rock the protagonist’s world. It’s a gut-wrenching adventure that’s not to be missed, if you’re able to play it.
