Get Groove-y with Microsoft

Microsoft rebrands Xbox Music and Video

Recommended Videos

Xbox Music has been rebranded to Xbox Groove.

“Groove describes what people feel and do with music,” says Microsoft, “and is more intuitive for our Windows 10 customers on what they’ll find with the app.”

The rebrand doesn’t herald a change in the service, though – you can only access the service with a $10 a month subscription, and there’s still no mention of reviving the defunct free, ad-supported version.

Xbox Video has also been renamed as Movies & TV, “making the content in the app more identifiable for our broad customer base.” Because the word “Video” was too misleading, it seems.

You’ll see the changes first on Windows 10 PCs, and then it’ll roll out to other devices – consoles included – “in the coming months”.
