4.6 new characters

Arlecchino is a 5-star Pyro Polearm user, and the only new playable character in Genshin Impact Version 4.6. She is a Fatui Harbinger and head of an orphanage called the House of the Hearth. She is the “Father” of her adopted family and trains the orphanage’s children to carry out missions as members of the Fatui. We can learn more about Arlecchino’s character during the Fontaine Archon Quests and her own Story Quest.

Arlecchino’s kit revolves around the Bond of Life mechanic, whereby she inflicts a status upon herself that prevents her from receiving healing. This Bond of Life stacks as a percentage of her max HP, and having more Bond of Life increases the damage of her Pyro-infused Normal Attacks. Even though Arlecchino cannot receive outside healing, she is still able to heal herself with her Burst.

Sethos will also be introduced during 4.6 as an NPC. He appears to be an Electro character from Sumeru, and his design implies that he will be playable in the future.

4.6 banners

The banners for the first half of Genshin Impact Version 4.6 will feature Arlecchino (5-star Pyro Polearm) and Lyney (5-star Pyro Bow). The weapon banner will include their respective signature weapons, Crimson Moon’s Semblance (5-star Polearm) and The First Great Magic (5-star Bow).

The second half’s banners will consist of Baizhu (5-star Dendro Catalyst) and Wanderer (5-star Anemo Catalyst). Their signature weapons are Jadefall’s Splendor (5-star Catalyst) and Tulaytullah’s Remembrance (5-star Catalyst).

There will be no Chronicled Wish banner in Genshin Impact Version 4.6.

4.6 new area: Remuria

A new area is being added to Fontaine: Remuria. On the surface, this area is mostly just water with a small island village named Petrichor. Beneath the waves, however, lies the lost kingdom of Remuria. A new World Quest will take players on a journey through the new area to unlock its secrets.

Remuria introduces a new exploration mechanic whereby you can play or pause music to alter the flow of time. This is used to solve certain puzzles in the area.

4.6 new events

Iridescent Arataki Rockin’ for Life Tour de Force of Awesomeness is the flagship event for Genshin Impact Version 4.6. This event includes several minigames, including a rhythm game. Completing the event rewards players with the usual Primogems and other loot, as well as a new French horn gadget and a free Gorou.

Windtrace: Seekers and Strategy is a fresh take on the Windtrace prop hunt game, turning it into something more akin to Dead by Daylight. Rebels will still hide and avoid the Hunter, but they must now also repair mechanisms strewn around the arena.

Specially-Shaped Saurian Search is another version of the Vagabond boss challenges. Players can customize the difficulty of their challenge and take on special versions of the Pyro Regisvine, Primo Geovishap, Jadeplume Terrorshroom, and Millennium Pearl Seahorse.

Vibro-Crystal Applications sees the return of Vibro-Crystals, allowing players to customize what conditions trigger what buffs. Fight through waves of enemies and see how high of a score you can achieve!

Overflowing Mastery will close out Genshin Impact Version 4.6, granting double drop rates on all Talent books in their respective domains.

Other additions in Version 4.6

An Arlecchino weekly boss called The Knave will be available to challenge. You can unlock this boss domain by completing Arlecchino’s Story Quest or through the Adventurer’s Handbook. The Knave will inflict a Bond of Life debuff, but clearing the Bond of Life grants a buff to your Charged Attacks.

A new world boss called the Legatus Golem will be located in Remuria. It looks like a statue of a centaur that plays a violin.

Two new artifact sets will be added to a new domain: Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy and Unfinished Reverie.

Arlecchino’s Story Quest will debut together with the Version update. This quest unlocks the weekly boss version of Arlecchino.

Cyno’s Story Quest will receive an Act 2. This is presumably where we will meet Sethos.

A focused experience feature will allow players to focus on a chosen quest, overriding other quests that have conflicts with characters or locations.

Updates to the Serenitea Pot will streamline the crafting process. These changes were covered more thoroughly in a recent developers discussion.

More player avatars will be available to choose from based on your World Quest completion.

The treasure compasses and map will be optimized to be easier to use.

Genius Invokation TCG is receiving yet another update, adding cards like the Hydro Abyss Herald, Kuki Shinobu, Emperor of Fire and Iron, and Faruzan.

Fontaine OST part 3: Cantus Aeternus will also release sometime during Version 4.6.

It looks like Genshin Impact still has a lot to offer its players. Whether you’re pulling for Arlecchino or just enjoying the new quests, there’s a lot to look forward to. I’ll see you in Remuria on April 24!
