She starts on August 10
Genshin Impact shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. In fact they have content planned for years on end, and with the extreme popularity of the game and the recent move to PS5, it’s going to be around for a while. Developer miHoYo has been extremely smart in the way they market this game and have been very responsive with feedback, and swift in terms of development turnarounds. That includes a good cadence of new characters, like this one! Genshin Impact‘s Yoimiya was confirmed today by way of this new trailer: “Queen of Summer on Narukami Island,” as well as this tweet from the studio.
Genshin Impact‘s Yoimiya is a bow-wielding 5-star Pyro (an honor bestowed to Amber previously), with an affiliation for Naganohara Fireworks, and a Carassius Auratus constellation. According to miHoYo, she’s a burst damage dealer that uses blazing arrows and marks enemies with an elemental burst, leaving the option open for other teammates to do pyro damage. Yoimiya is voiced by Kana Ueda in Japanese and Jenny Yokobori in English.
As is customary for Genshin Impact characters she has a rather extensive backstory for someone who isn’t in the game yet, which you can check out at the above tweet. In short, she really loves fireworks, and she prefers snacks to entrees: relatable! Genshin Impact‘s Yoimiya will enter the fray on August 10. That means she’ll be part of the “banner” system and you can try your luck for a gacha pull for her.
As a reminder, another bow user, Aloy (Cryo) is also on the schedule, and will first drop on September 1 during patch 2.1 for PlayStation users, then 2.2 for everyone else. Given that we’re just fresh off of 2.0, there’s still plenty to do in the near future for Genshin Impact.
