The Game Developers Choice Awards, the premiere peer-based awards show in the gaming industry, took place today in San Francisco, and the big winner of the night was The Last of Us with Game of the Year. 

Other biggies included Papers, Please for Innovation Award, the Fullbright Company winning Best Debut, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for best handheld/mobile, and BioShock Infinite for best visual art.

The GDC Awards has an open nomination process for industry professionals to determine the finalists. The winners are chosen by an invitation-only group of top game creators, and this is the fourteenth year the award ceremony has been held.
