Game journalist pranked: we laugh with, not at

Shacknews editor Chris Faylor was pranked in the worst way — by his own people! I can’t wait to see the revenge prank. E3 maybe?

Chris was set up by fellow editor Nick Breckon and Shacknews community member Abigail Sponge.  Sponge posed as a Lionhead Studios rep and called to prepare Chris for the long and insane list of demands he would have to meet for his (false) scheduled interview with Peter Molyneux at the 2008 Game Developers Conference.

Oh, the horror! I could tell you that he was “required” to wear a pink shirt, comply with strict English afternoon tea customs, and buy a $50-100 gift for Molyneux, but the whole prank is easier to appreciate when you hear and see it for yourself.

It has to be said that Chris Faylor accepts these demands with respect and professionalism. Impressive. I know that no one here at our fine media outlet would be as accepting or gracious. But I do know that any of us would’ve kicked Molyneux’s ass at Connect Four.

Brilliant prank, Shacknews. I have a feeling that this is only the beginning.
