Friday Night Fights: Thanks for being HUGE

Happy Friday everyone! I just wanted to take a few moments to thank all of you who decided to take the plunge and go HUGE!

For me, the choice was easy. I’ve been with Destructoid since early 2007 and this is most definitely my “home away from home”. I’ve made many a good friend here. Played many a good game with them as well, not just on Friday nights, but at varying times, day or night.

One such friend is Scield, who was just interviewed over on the Cblogs, you should totally go check it out. (Mad props to Everyday Legend and OpiumHerz for keeping this great series alive.)

I also want to take a moment to thank Niero, Dale, and Hamza, as well as the rest of the Destructoid staff for not only making me feel welcomed and part of the family, but for also handing out cool free stuff, like this copy of NightSky from Nicalis, just for being HUGE. [And also Andy Dixon too because he gave me this job and I am an ungrateful ass. –Andy]

Anyway, enough with the gushing. Thanks again to all of you out there, HUGE or not. I consider you all, part of my extended family.

New to FNF? Read this! Each week, a bunch of us Dtoiders get together to play videogames online! It’s a 100% community-run event, so feel free to join in or even host something yourself!

The planning for FNF starts in the forums, where community members sign up to host matches and post their pertinent details (game, time, Gamertag, etc.). Then, every Friday, reminder posts go up in the community blogs thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers, and I recap it all here on the front page to give it a bit more exposure.

To join in, simply send a friend request to the match host! If you’d rather host something yourself, sound off in the comments section below!
